About Our Organization

URMUL Trust (Urmul Rural Health Research and Development Trust) is a community-driven organization working across Rajasthan for more than 40 years. It was built on the belief that real change begins within the community itself. URMUL works closely with people—especially women, children, and marginalized groups—to strengthen their confidence, skills, and collective voice. Through initiatives in education, livelihoods, health, and natural resource management, the organization supports communities to come together, address their own challenges, and move towards a life of dignity, resilience, and...

We Serve the Humanity.

The URMUL Rural Health, Research and Development Trust, Bikaner was initiated by URMUL Dairy (Uttari Rajasthan Cooperative Milk Union Ltd.), Bikaner in 1983. URMUL Trust represents a family of organizations working towards social and economic change in the lives of the people in the harsh, inhospitable and interior regions of western Rajasthan. What keeps these different organisations and the Trust together are a set of shared feelings, values and commitment about work and processes of development.

Girls' Education & Women's Empowerment

URMUL's flagship theme: second-chance education, open schooling, dropout re-enrolment, and village learning camps.

Project Pragati (Open Board Education Programme)

Scale178 Centres | 3,058 learners

TargetGirls/women 14–29 (Class 10)

Village-based learning camps connected to Rajasthan State Open School (RSOS); local Preraks selected and trained from the community. Phase 1 (Oct 2022) → Phase 2 (April 2023) → Phase 3 (April 2024).

URMUL Education Programme – Unified Responsive Model

5-year statewide scaling: 14,000 girls identified; 12,000 re-enrolled; 495 trained Preraks; ~70% exam pass rate. Focus on migrant, brick-kiln, and tribal girls.
